The 2013 Freedom Award honored Sergeant Major Carlton Kent, US Marine Corps (Ret.), during a reception on the Jones Day rooftop.  The reception was a success by raising awareness and funds for our mission to educate the children of fallen and wounded Service members due to the hard work of our co-chairs: Andy Maner and Holidae Hayes.  The Freedom Award is presented annually to individuals who epitomize selfless service to the nation and represent the very best of our men and women in uniform.  The recipients of the award embody five core principles: Freedom, Sacrifice, Community, Patriotism, and Esteem.

Honored Guests included: General and Mrs. James Amos, General and Mrs. James T. Conway (Ret.), Sergeant Major and Mrs. Carlton Kent (Ret.), Colonel Barney Barnum (Ret.), Master Chief Petty Officer and Mrs. Joe Campa (Ret.), and Sergeant Major Al McMichael (Ret.).

Sponsors: DC Capital Partners, Jones Day, IBM, Avascent, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, CGI, General Dynamics C4 Systems, Safran, Sapient, VADM (Ret) Pat Tracey and Dr. Richard Metzer, Goldman Sachs, Formula Strategy Group, Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America, Adfero Group, and Bobby Van’s Grill.
