As a charity partner of the 33rd annual Marine Corps Marathon, NGS has obtained a limited number of entries for NGS supporters to run amongst the 30,000 participants in the now sold-out event to be held on October 26, 2008 in Alexandria, Virginia.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the NGS Marine Corps Marathon Team (MCMT) please click here. Although registration for the event is closed, NGS has 1 space remaining on the team.

Members of the MCMT are asked to raise a minimum of $525 to support the NGS mission and cover the cost of the marathon's registration fee. (Of course, you are encouraged to raise as much as possible.) To ensure one's spot on the MCMT as a late registrant, a $200 deposit is required shortly after being accpeted to the team. The remaining amount is due two weeks following the event, November 7th, 2008.

To facilitate fundraising efforts and training, MCMT members will be provided fundraising support as well as contact information for other MCMT members. As October 26, 2008 approaches the MCMT will have occasional get-togethers and group runs. The MCMT will also host a carboloading dinner the night before the event and will have a 20' x 20' finish line tent for team members and families to store clothing at and congregate during the race.

All MCMT members that raise the minimum amount will receive to be determined NGS branded products as a tribute to their support. Such products will include:

An NGS MCMT running shirt to wear during the marathon;
An NGS T-shirt to wear post-marathon;
An NGS athletic cinch bag;
A Marine Corps Marathon participant T-shirt;
A Marine Corps Marathon champion chip;
A Marine Corps Marathon goody bag;
And potentially other items such as an NGS hat and/or Camelbak.

NGS supporters who have already registered for the Marine Corps Marathon are also encouraged to join the MCMT. In such a circumstance, we request that you also attempt to raise the $500 minimum, however, you will receive the MCMT gear after raising $400. Unfortunately, NGS is unable to repay your previously paid registration fees.

Team Sponsorships

Team Member Sponsorships

There are three ways to sponsor an MCMT team member.

1. Donate online via the "Support" button on the specific team member's page (see above) that you would like to support.
- Note: This is the preferred method of support.

2. Give a check made payable to "No Greater Sacrifice" to the team member that you would like to sponsor. They will submit it to NGS on your behalf.

3. Send a check made payable to "No Greater Sacrifice" with “MCM – [name of runner being sponsored]” in the "for" section on the check to:
